But for any hearty, hearty meal that can shake off the cold, first try the classic Bolognese, which is usually an all-day project. We don’t just spend the whole day cooking pasta dinners.
Giada Bolognese Recipe:Simple Bolognese Sauce
Her easy Bolognese recipe is a comforting and hearty meal for a weeknight. Then once you’ve tossed the pasta with the sauce and added the cheese, toss it all together for a couple of minutes when the sauce thickens up nicely.
It’s a staple at home and one of Jade’s all-time favorite dishes. Although it is delicious with pasta, I often like to make a double batch of the sauce and use it to make easy dinners throughout the week.
Giada Bolognese Recipe: A Step-by-Step Guide
Heat the olive oil well in a large pan. When almost hot, add the onion and garlic and cook over medium heat until the onion is very soft about 9 minutes. Add celery and carrot and fry for 6 minutes. Increase the heat and then add the ground beef. Roast, stirring frequently to break up any large lumps, and cook until the meat is no longer pink, about 15 minutes.
Add the tomatoes, parsley, and basil and cook on medium heat until the sauce thickens. Add salt and pepper. Add canned cherry tomatoes. Before discarding the cans, fill each with 1 cup of water.

Then toss around to get the rest of the tomato sauce, and add it to the pan as well. Either use a spoon to gently break them up or use a cutter to cut into the pan. Then bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat. Season generously with kosher salt.
Now add the pasta to the water and cook according to the package directions to make al dente pasta. Now toss the sauce generously to coat the pasta, if needed thin it with pasta water to make sure it sticks to the pasta. Drizzle with more olive oil if needed. Drizzle and sprinkle with more Parmesan cheese and basil, if desired.

1 1 cup extra virgin olive oil.
2 2 medium onions, coarsely chopped.
3 3 garlic cloves, peeled and coarsely chopped.
4 2 celery stalks, coarsely chopped.
5 2 carrots, coarsely chopped.
6 2 pounds ground chuck beef.
7 1 (28-ounce) can tomatoes, crushed.
8 1 cup flat-leaf Italian parsley, chiffonade.
9 3 fresh basil leaves, chiffonade.
10 Salt and freshly ground black pepper as needed.
11 1 cup freshly chopped Pecorino Romano.
