Mexican lava rock is made in Molcajete and our roasted salsa is a favorite in our house. It is very easy to make, And serving the salsa in a pretty bowl makes for a very impressive presentation. Salsa develops a depth of flavor and slight spiciness during roasting.

Molcajete Recipes Composition

On a stovetop barbecue grill or an uncovered pan, grill the tomatoes, garlic, jalapeno, and onion in a couscous, until the skins of all the vegetables are blackened, at least 3/4 minute. Then remove the pan from the grill and keep it cool. Roughly chop the roasted vegetables. Mix well the onion, garlic, lemon juice, cumin, and salt in the molcajete. Then add the tomatoes and jalapeño, and continue to blend and grind until the mixture reaches your desired consistency. Now add the red pepper and mix well. Serve the molcajete with tortilla chips.

To start grinding the ingredients in the molcajet, keep up to 1/3 tsp. Add salt and garlic to the molcajet until a thick paste forms and you grind it well. Add onions and make a fine paste. Then add black pepper and grind each thing one by one. Then add tomatoes one by one and keep grinding. Also, chop the red pepper and add it to the molcajete. If you don’t have a molcajete, you can also use a blender or food processor. Simply put all the cooked ingredients into the machine and grind until completely ground. Serve the delicious molcajete and enjoy.

1 6 Roma tomatoes.
2 4 cloves garlic.
3 1 jalapeño.
4 2 red onions.
5 Juice of 1 lime.
6 1 teaspoon of salt.
7 1 teaspoon ground cumin.
8 1 handful fresh red pepper, chopped.
